We offer a wide range of activities designed to teach members the skills required to get into the world of work. For example:

Supported Employment Opportunities

Uniting Friends is dedicated to creating employment opportunities where possible. We currently employ 12 people with a learning disability and our supported work programme includes Assistant Support Workers, administrational roles and activity leads including four DJs to work at the Groovy Cat Club.

Qualifications

We strive to create opportunities for our members to work towards and achieve appropriate qualifications, such as ASDAN qualifications in our training cafe.

UF Radio - April 2024: "Our London, Our Say"

This month’s show discusses the London Mayoral Elections on May 2nd. What does the Mayor do and why is it such an important role? What do you love about your capital city? What worries you about London? These are the key questions we discussed to spark an interesting conversation. We were feeling very proud of our London by the end of the chat, though we also agreed there are things that need to be taken seriously by the next Mayor. We lovingly put together a London themed song list.
Canal Day Trip - Saturday 29th June

Embark on a delightful 4-hour day trip, immersing yourself in the beauty of the Essex and Hertfordshire countryside while exploring the River Stort. You can try your hand at steering the boat and operating the locks, or simply unwind and watch the flora, fauna and the world go by. Price includes a meat or vegetarian buffet lunch.
Mini Canal Ride & Shopping at Camden Market - Saturday 15th June

Join us at Little Venice, London to pick up our canal boat taking us to the market in Camden. Here we will shop till we drop! A simple lunch (pizza, pasta) will be had by the canal too so bring £15 to cover this on the day.
Pizza Night! - Wednesday 12th June

Join us for some pizza and dough balls in South Woodford. Ham and pineapple? Fiorentina? Meat Feast or just a vegetable supreme? What pizza will you choose? Pasta choices available too. Bring extra money for drinks.

Our huge main project consisting of over 56 weekly daytime activities designed to promote personal development and independence in a fun way.

We help you to develop your confidence and to speak out and share your opinions!
Independent living skills

We have a fully furnished training flat where we support you to learn all the skills you need to live independently - cooking, cleaning and even doing the laundry!
Training Cafe

We have a training cafe where members can learn how to prepare, cook and serve food and drinks.
Make friends, have fun, be happy

We have over 220 wonderful members to become friends with! Every week we have many daytime and evening activities and events, so you will make a strong group of friends in no time.
Health and wellbeing

We have many projects and activities to do with improving health and wellbeing. Gym, sports, Slimming World, cooking classes, growing food, yoga...you name it, we've got it!
Sprout There!

We have a horticultural employment and training programme called Sprout There! It offers participants an opportunity to grow their own food and learn how to cook it.
Gain Independence

We offer training and support for our members' to become more independent wherever possible. We have a fully furnished training flat to teach cooking, cleaning and laundry, as well as a range of special activities and support groups.
